Choosing a unique floor design is a great way to make an individual statement and improve proportions of a room!
Things To Consider
Stripes going width-ways make a floor seem less narrow, while a checker-board pattern creates the impression of greater space!
The size of your pattern should relate to the size of your room. Use large patterns on large floors to create a dramatic effect that will get noticed. Use smaller patterns in smaller spaces. Before choosing a pattern, look at samples in the room.
Be sure the pattern works with the layout of the room. Consider doorways and other fixtures that may cause an awkward break in the pattern.
